How would a lawyer defend this person?

For school I have to write a story and my story involves a guy who has been wrongly accused of ual ault. Its a case where its her word against his, no witnesses. What kind of defence would a lawyer use to protect his client from getting convicted of a crime he never committed. How could a lawyer discredit the womans accusation. Any suggestions would help alot thanks.
