Levothyroxine: has it HELPED anyone's thinning hair?

I am a 21 year-old female and have been experiencing hair loss for 2 years. I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which could be the cause of my hair loss. I've just been prescribed levothyroxine. I read up on it and am mortified: all I see are people freaking out that they're losing MORE hair. I can't possibly cope with losing more. Has ANYONE had a positive experience with levothyroxine restoring their hair?
