Who can help save our kids?

In short!! What's the matter!/ it only took me a few minutes to read it!!! Anyway, I agree with you PBS is great, not only for kids, for adults too! Good clean programs! I understand where you are coming from. I have found, through my own grandchildren, I was educated in England, and that was a different ball of wax then! I cannot believe there are still numerous teachers who cannot spell or use the English language correctly! For instance! and THIS was even on TV on the news!!! This lady said - I axed the man what he was doing!!! Translation!!! she ASKED him what he was doing!!! LOL!! She's not the only one AXing someone! My grandson comes home with a note from the teacher! I had a hard time figuring out what she was trying to get through to me! SO! I sat down and corrected all her spelling mistakes and her grammar!!!! DUH!!! I finally figured out, she was trying to tell me my Grandson wasn't doing at all well with his spelling!!! I sent a nice little note back to her, and very sweetly told her,she should practice what she preaches! YEP! All hell broke loose! She called my son-in-law, and AXED WHO I was! He he!! HE told her, I was the child's grandmama, and while SHE was in charge of taking care of his son, she had everyright to voice her opinion!!!! But, seriously!!! I can well understand why numerous parents are home schooling their children! The problem with these schools nowadays is, the authorities have taken most of the parent's rights away from them to correct their children! These school administrations think they know better than we do, how to raise a child. They forget one thing, each child is an individual, no two are alike - just like snow flakes, but blame the child when something goes wrong. That's when this name calling shows it's ugly face!!! The child suffers from this abuse, and what gets me is! these teachers get away with it! BUT! WOE BETIDE! if a child comes to school, telling teacher, "My Mom was mean to me""! They jump on the band wagon, and nine times out of ten, mom and dad are dragged into court!!! I guess they have a double standard when it comes to name calling! If I had to do it all over again, and know what I know now, I would definately home school him!
